Anesthesia Informed Consent

Anesthesia is a procedure which needs patient's consent. All types of anesthesia involve some risk, side effects and complications. For general anesthesia the most common side effects include sore throat, nausea and vomiting. Other types of anesthesia, such as regional anesthesia, sedation with analgesia, have its side effects, too. The following form is the actual consent form for anesthesia. This consent form lists the types of anesthesia and its risk. Our Summit Anesthesia Associates, P.A. (SAA) provide all anesthesias in Overlook Hospital and other surgical facilities. Your anesthesiologist will explain the type of anesthesia and side effect to you. Do not hesitate to discuss and ask your anesthesiologist before surgery. If you have any special concern, or had problem on a previous anesthesia, you may want to discuss it with your anesthesiologist. For most of the common questions and concern, you may find the answers in our web site or the related website.
